Clinton Avenue Baptist Church, originally founded as Twenty-Third Street Baptist Church on August 27, 1944, began with 15 charter members under the leadership of Rev. Ibsen. Rooted in faith and prayer, the church experienced remarkable growth, moving from its original location to its current home on Clinton Avenue, a blessing made possible through divine provision. Over the years, the church has flourished, serving as a beacon of hope and spreading the gospel through vibrant ministries, missions, and dedicated leadership, including Pastor T.L. Epton’s 27-year tenure and the current pastor, Rev. J. Odell Whitfield. Today, Clinton Avenue Baptist Church continues its mission to share God’s love and bring salvation to the lost with unwavering commitment and humility.
